Old Ford C600. They made these things basically unchanged for over 30 years, so I’m having a hard time telling how old this one is. Turn signals are making me think it’s a later one.

So cool. These were everywhere when I was 5 and just seeing an image takes me back. I could be wrong but those indicators may have been added by an owner. I couldn’t find anything similar on Google.

they  had single headlights since 61ish so hard to tell

I think the blind indicator rounds in the grill are because the US rules for side visibility of markers obviated that as a legal place to have them. So, post ‘67 or something like that (stock markers up next to the windshield, side marker in the badge ).

The best indications of age I see are the side badges and the absence of a center badge on the nose. I think this is late ‘70s to early 80s, because apparently mid 80s they started putting a Ford logo in the middle again, and there’s no cog and bolt/V8 logo to say early 70s.

These are just likelihoods, though.

if it was possible to catch a glimpse of the engine then it’d help narrow it down. Since it’s a gas-powered truck, they used different engine families at different stages of its existence.

edit: of course, assuming it hasn’t been repowered with something different than original...

The bumper style, I had hopes would show changes. Not really, but painted is pretty common for the time frame I suspect. I checked as year variation possibilities the wiper motor panels (same all the way through production), the rear cab vents (ditto), fender flares (ditto ditto), windshield seal style and door window setup (ditto^4), door latches, fender flares, F O R D lettering...

Any variation thereof is subtle and I couldn’t really track.

It may be time to face the facts. These are a son of a bitch to ID.

yep, I remember these things being everywhere in Roadway’s orange/dark blue livery. The Henry Ford museum even has one:

I think a lot of their later ones were diesel, with Caterpillar 3208s.

the C-series was replaced in the early ‘90s by the Cargo, imported from Brazil.

I don’t think it was that well received.  the US Postal Service bought a bunch but I don’t recall seeing all that many others on the road.

Later Ford sold their European truck business to Iveco who added their own name:
